Volunteer with our education team

In this role, our volunteers support our mission of combating biodiversity loss and conservation education by providing information to our visitors and supporting the efforts of the education team. Please note that this role does not include any hands-on animal experience.
This opportunity would suit anyone who is interested in education, customer service or just enjoys sharing their passion for animals and conservation. Volunteers in this role will be required to work outside in all weather conditions and will be one of the first points of contact for visitors to Five Sisters Zoo, so a positive attitude and a willingness to help are essential skills. Visitor Engagement volunteers will work under the Education Team but most shifts will be comprised of independent working once training has been completed. Shifts may include being stationed at a specific animal enclosure to answer visitor questions, supporting animal keepers with their daily animal talks, providing wayfinding services to visitors and participating in special events or initiatives.
Please complete an application and send it across to education@fivesisterszoo.co.uk referencing ‘Visitor Engagement Volunteer’ in the subject line to express your interest and find out about next steps.
