By Car

Five sisters Zoo is just a few minutes east of West Calder on Polbeth Road. Our postcode is EH55 8PT.

Reaching us by car – From the M8 (Junction 3) and Livingston take the A899 to the A71 and follow the road signs for West Calder.  As you enter West Calder, at the 2nd set of traffic lights (after the Arnold Clark car sales on your left) you will see a brown Visit Scotland sign directing you to turn right. Continue to follow the brown signs to the zoo.

If traveling from the Bathgate direction, the zoo is signed from Blackburn Cross, directing traffic onto the B792.

If traveling from the west along the A71, the zoo is signed from the first set of traffic lights in West Calder. If traveling from the west on the A705, the zoo is signed at the traffic lights at the Simpson Parkway. Continue to follow the brown signs.

 

By Bus

Five Sisters Zoo is a five minute walk from the Harwood Church bus stop in Polbeth. The number 26 bus and the 34A bus (both departing form the bus terminal at The Centre in Livingston) both pass this stop.

Part of the walk leads onto  country roads and there is no pavement for part of the route.

By Train

The nearest train station to the zoo is West Calder, which links to Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley Station.  For train times and ticket prices, please visit https://www.scotrail.co.uk/.

Please note that the walk from the train station to the zoo is just over a mile and takes approximately 15-20 minutes.  Part of the walk leads onto  country roads and there is no pavement for part of the route, coming from both directions.
