White-cheeked Turaco - Five Sisters Zoo

The White-cheeked Turaco has distinctive white patches to either side of its beak and possesses bright green and blue feathers across the body with vibrant red feathers on the wings. The shape of their wings, short and rounded, prevents any sustained flight and they lack the structure for strong flight, instead leaping from branch to branch. They flock together in groups of 10-15 typically, sharing the responsibility of looking for food and watching for predators.
