Pied Imperial Pigeon - Five Sisters Zoo

Primarily white or cream in colour, the Pied Imperial Pigeon has black feathers on the edge of its wings, tails and a dark beak and eyes. They are not a migratory bird but will fly from the coast inland each day in order to forage for food in the trees. No true population estimates exist at this time but it is assumed that the overall population is decreasing due to continued habitat loss.
