Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak we are not accepting new applications for internships. Any candidates that had already been offered an internship position should contact the zoo to re-arrange this. We hope to open our internship programme up again as soon as possible. Please be advised, if you do send across an application at this time we will not respond.

We run an internship programme! Interns provide much needed help to our zoo staff, and in return we offer our interns an invaluable experience within the zoo field.

Zoo Keeping Interns

We have a dedicated team of zoo keepers who oversee all aspects of animal care in the zoo. Our zoo keeping interns assist our keeping staff with everything from feeding the animals, to cleaning enclosures, to providing enrichment.

We ask our interns to commit to two or three days a week, for a period of 3 months. Anyone wishing to do an internship must be at least 18 years of age, be studying or have studied an animal-related subject, and have their own means of getting to and from the zoo. Internships are unpaid.

If you would like any further information on internships at the zoo, please email or call the office on 01506 870 000.
